Spalding Flower Parade
1989
The Spalding Flower Parade of 1989 drew an estimated 250,000 visitors. It was the 31st annual parade and the theme was 'Floral Fiesta'. It was sunny with a cool breeze. So busy was the event that traffic tailed back from Spalding to Surfleet Bridge. More than 200 police officers attended and there were 26 arrests in the town for public order offences.

The Flower Queen was 21-year-old Debbie Parson and her deputy was Jayne Bailey.
